Omnilert Launches Secure Schools Grant Program to Enhance School Safety

Omnilert, a leader in AI-driven safety solutions, has announced the launch of its Secure Schools Grant Program, a nationwide initiative designed to strengthen security in K-12 schools. Through this program, Omnilert will donate Omnilert Gun Detect, its AI-powered firearm detection technology, to 20 selected schools for three years. The program prioritizes schools facing higher risks of gun violence and lacking financial resources for critical security upgrades.

How Omnilert Gun Detect Works

Omnilert Gun Detect is an AI-powered technology that analyzes security camera feeds in real time to detect visible firearms. When a firearm is identified, the system activates automated safety workflows and instantly alerts designated responders. This immediate response capability enables faster decision-making and mitigates potential threats before they escalate.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the grant, schools must meet the following criteria:

Be a public or private K-12 school in the United States.
Have existing security infrastructure, such as surveillance cameras compatible with Omnilert Gun Detect.
Demonstrate a commitment to improving school safety through technology and security protocols.
Agree to participate in pre- and post-implementation evaluations and share outcomes.
Schools in high-risk areas or those with limited financial resources will receive priority consideration.

Application Process

Step 1: Complete the Online Application

Schools can submit their application at grant.omnilert.com starting March 6, 2025.

Step 2: Review Process

Applications will be evaluated by a panel of school safety professionals, including representatives from Omnilert, educational institutions, and safety organizations. Schools will be assessed based on need, readiness, and potential impact.

Step 3: Award Notifications

Selected schools will be notified in June, 2025, with deployment beginning in July 2025.

Support for Awarded Schools

Each selected school will receive:

Omnilert Gun Detect Appliance – A “plug and play” solution that integrates with existing camera systems.
Training & Education – Online training sessions for school security personnel, administrators, and relevant staff, including workshops on utilizing data insights and system alerts.
Technical Support & Maintenance – Three years of free technical support, software updates, and system optimization assistance.

Additional Grant Assistance

Schools interested in expanding Omnilert Gun Detect across their district will receive guidance on securing further funding through federal and state grants, including:
