Enables school officials to issue e2Campus alerts that override content on all Scala displays in case of emergency
LAS VEGAS
From the show floor of InfoComm 2010, Omnilert®, LLC announced that Scala has become a Certified Endpoint Provider (CEP) of the e2Campus® unified emergency notification system. e2Campus clients that have Scala 5 digital signage systems installed can quickly, easily and reliably connect to Scala. This enables e2Campus clients to push e2Campus alerts automatically and simultaneously to their school’s digital signage systems without having to access Scala’s Content Management System separately. West Chester University of Pennsylvania was the first to take advantage of this new integration.
Now that Scala is an e2Campus CEP, it speeds the delivery of critical messages to a school’s entire digital signage network because no human interaction is required after initial setup. This also means students and others who haven't enrolled in e2Campus may still get the alerts from the school’s LCD/plasma TV displays run by Scala. An alert issued in e2Campus will automatically override Scala’s displayed content within one minute.
“During an emergency, every second counts,” said Robert Koolen, President, Scala. “The campus police chief ordinarily would not know how to, or have direct access to update digital signs spread across campus. Now that Scala 5 is certified to work with e2Campus, all the police chief has to do is issue an e2Campus alert, and the digital signs update themselves.”
The new integrated solution is available today. There are no additional fees from e2Campus for the connection. e2Campus clients interested in Scala’s products should contact their e2Campus account manager for details at 1-800-936-3525.
