WSNN, the "Suncoast News Network," reports that the Sarasota County School Board has approved the purchase of Omnilert Gun Detect for $917,000 for the first year. The Sarasota County School District consists of 56 schools with a student enrollment of 45,256 students.
According to the report, "Omnilert will be installed in all middle and high schools in the school district". The Sarasota County School Board met on July 16th to approve the contract, which passed unanimously. Superintendent Connor shared that the request came on the heels of a successful pilot in their schools this year.
